  2. Two teams called red and blue play the game. For this competition, a team consists of 3 players.
  3. Each team has a home base that is a 10 m diameter circular area inside the team's half. The home base contains the team's flag at its center.
  4. A player can move around inside the playing field. If a player goes outside the boundaries of the playing field, it is immediately returned to its home base.
  5. Docker submissions must not exceed 0.25 gigabytes from the initial docker image size.
  6. Top scoring submissions are required to submit a brief algorithm explanation as part of a join paper to be published the following year.

Game Duration and Scoring

Each game will last for a total of 10 minutes.

The scoring rules in the game are the following:

  1. We will evaluate your entry against the top ten (or top teams currently ranked on the leaderboard)
  2. Sum of (Number of flag captures - Opponent Flag Captures) accross those ten round robin games
  3. Tie's will be broken by looking at the number of flag grabs (team with more wins).

The safety score will be calculated based on the number of collisions involving your team's agents accross those same ten games.

Game Events

  1. Tag: Get within 10 m of its opponent team's players inside its own half. (Note that this implies that for a tag to occur, both players must be inside the same half and the tag gets awarded to the player that owns that half.)
  2. Flag Grab: Enter the opponent's home base in an untagged state and pick up the opponent team's flag, if it is there.
  3. Flag Capture: Return to its team's home base with a grabbed opponent flag without getting tagged by an opponent team's player.
  4. In addition, the game enforces an Auto-Tag action on a player if it goes outside the boundaries of the playing field. Auto-tag immediately returns the player to its home base.
  5. Untagging:A player that has been tagged (either by an opponent or by auto-tag) can get untagged by returning to its team’s home base. Players that are in a tagged state, are not able to tag opponents, grab or capture the opponent’s flag. If a player gets tagged the game controller will automatically take over the agents controls and drive it back to its team's home base.
  6. Top scoring submissions are required to submit a brief algorithm explanation as part of a join paper to be published the following year.
